Colegio Universitario Amphitheater

9,650 ft2 (900 m2)

This completed project showcases the comprehensive renovation and modernization of the amphitheater at the Colegio Universitario de San Juan, Puerto Rico. The transformation began with a demolition phase, during which outdated floors, walls, staircases, ceilings, electrical installations, and windows were removed. The amphitheater now features a striking glass façade at the main entrance, upgraded flooring, modern seating, new ceilings, and acoustic wall finishes designed to enhance both aesthetics and functionality.

Accessibility was a key focus, with the addition of an elevator to ensure inclusivity for individuals with disabilities. The project also included new state-of-the-art lighting, fully renovated restrooms, a fire protection system complete with sprinklers, a water cistern, and pump equipment. Additionally, the electrical and air conditioning systems were completely upgraded to meet modern standards.

The condenser units for the new air conditioning system were strategically installed on the building’s roof, optimizing interior space while maintaining efficient performance. This renovation successfully revitalized the amphitheater, transforming it into a contemporary, functional, and welcoming space that enhances the campus experience for students, faculty, and visitors alike.
